Does anyone want to start an 7th and 8th grade study group so instead of just working alone we could have fun while working! Or can someone point towards an online study group!
I am sure my son would love to do this. And I think it would be good for him to.
For College? When i was in middle school i Had straight A’s Except in the 6th grades i got some F’s and D’s will this affect my chance of getting into a good Uni?
No, they don’t care about middle school grades. If you’re transferring to university right after high school than they will look at your grades your 9th,10, and 11th grade. They will only looked to 12th to see you passed, but heavy weight is put on your gpa from 9th,10th, and 11th. If you go to a community college out of high school they just want to see you got your diploma. When you transfer from a community college they just ask for your grades from the college.
I’m a 22yr old who is finishing up a Biology Bachelors degree. I really have been wanting to go to the Middle East since high school and be a medic. I have been looking it to courses to do that. The military is out of question for many different reasons. Please help; I haven’t been able to find a "red cross" type organization that would pay (since I have to pay loan back and don’t have money accumulated to live off of.) me to do such work. Everyone is asking for experienced volunteers and I can’t do either, but I’m willing to give up my life until I’m 30 to go where ever and do what ever need to get done.
(I would get the training here, and would go to get experience there. I’m not expecting them to only hire inexperience people, usually people are paired up(even if they aren’t always working side by side). However, even locally I would have to deal with half burnt people, critically ill.)
Maybe you could try ‘Medecins Sans Frontieres’ (’Doctors without borders’) and see if they have a position for a trainee or someone like you, not fully trained, but willing to learn&gain the necessary experience. This is their international site:

What are some ways that I can prepare for middle school tryouts. I have a few months, but I really want to make it, so what can I do? Also, how much running do you have to do at tryouts?
this is my first year playing for my middle school and i would say you do a lot of conditioning so you aren’t out of breath on the court. my coach has us do drills and games and if we mess up or lose then we do running as consequences. It sounds meana and hard but its actually shes a good coach. That’s only practices though. at tryouts you do just as a warmup 2laps round the gym. and it depends on drills u do..not that much running. the coaches look for good passes and serves over the net.(the net and serving line are about 30ft apart). practice hitting the ball against a wall or sumthing that u would do that involves passing.
Are there any scholarship competition for middle school students? like you know….those competition of writing essays or other things to win scholarships? does anybody know?

Compare the jobs, not the money, and choose the one that best fits your personality. My guess is that you should stay out of education unless it’s what you want to do more than anything else.
The year is over and we have no more tests. My average is about an 84 now and my mom will freak if I get below a 90! WHAT TO DO?
Go to your teacher and ask if there are any extra credit projects you can do. Honestly it may be a little too late. You might want to talk to your mom before your report card comes, just to prepare her. 84 is not exactly bad, you know.
I’m looking into various web services for a middle school website. I saw Educational Networks
http://www.educationalnetworks.net/?rn=2074518
but they don’t give prices. Does anyone know how much it costs? Or if there are any other school website design companies, how much do those cost?
It’s hard to say how much they charge. I would estimate in the $3,000 to $15,000 range. However it would not surprise me if they charged significantly more. There are a lot of companies used to working with government and it can be amazing how much they charge, and often for shoddy work.
If you are looking for a more general price, I would recommend looking at local web design studios, seeing if they have the experience to take on a project such as a middle school. I’m assuming you are going to need more than a static website. You will need some sort of content management system to edit content, add new content and provide dynamic content pulling from databases and so forth. Not all design studio’s can do that, but there are plenty that can.
Do a few searches for web design firm or web design studio with your city or region and see what comes up, check out their portfolio’s and pick a few to request a proposal with. The best way to get an accurate quote is to put together a brief email / outline of the website project as well as it’s goals, features, etc. and send that to a few studios for a quote.
To get you started many better web design studios have a project question Word document to get you started by asking questions about your project, if they have one fill it out. You can check out this Word document http://www.acketon.com/wp-content/uploads/acketon_client_idea_project_sheet.doc
from my design studio to get you started with thinking about features and components needed in the site.
I would guess out of the blue you would be looking at a somewhere between $1,500 and $5,000 to get a site designed and running on a good open source content management system. I would highly recommend Drupal, ( http://www.drupal.org ) it is very powerful and one of the main CMS’s that I develop websites on. ( see: http://www.acketon.com/drupal-website-design/ )
