  • What middle school did Lance Armstrong go to?

Posted by admin on November 21st, 2009 and filed under east middle school | 5 Comments »

I know he went to Plano East High School, but I dont know about his elementary or middle school

Ok it is no where to be found. Well at least I am not going to spend tons of time doing it. This is what you do. Figure our what area he grew up in. What side of Plano did he live in. Go back through what Middle schools fed his high school in the late 80’s. Than find a year book and you have it!!!! pay dirt! I can bet it was one built prior to you being alive…

How will a middle school suspension effect my chances of getting into a good college?

Posted by admin on November 21st, 2009 and filed under middle school | 1 Comment »

In middle school, I was suspended for writing mean stuff about a girl in a yearbook. Will this limit my chances of getting into a good college?

Colleges do not care about the trouble you were in in middle school. Just don’t mess up in High School.

Name 3 reasons why middle school students should write in cursive.?

Posted by admin on November 21st, 2009 and filed under middle school students | 2 Comments »

I don’t like writing in cursive that much. It’s just that my English teacher wants me to write a persuasive essay on why middle school students should write in cursive, not print.

Because you need to learn how to sign your signature on paper work for adult hood.

You can’t print your name out on a check. Well, you shouldn’t. Be too easy for someone else to do.

Also, it’s part of learning and literature and grammar. It’s a form of writing. Even if it isn’t perfect, you should still learn to read and write in cursive so you can read other cursive writing from other people.

Are there any middle school teachers out there?

Posted by admin on November 21st, 2009 and filed under middle school teachers | 2 Comments »

I teach 7th grade English. It’s my second year. It’s hard for me to not feel discouraged right now. Last year, I was so rushed trying to just figure everything out, and I was expected to be kinda sucky (hope I wasn’t, though!).

This year, I’m having trouble being "creative" with a mandated curriculum. Any words of advice or encouragement?

Talk to your colleagues to get some feedback and exchange ideas. Also, try accessing some free educational resources online to give you some creative ideas. Do you only teach English to every year 7 class? i have to teach foreign languages to 6 year 8 ( 13/14 year olds) and that drives me insane.

A number puzzle (Middle School Math Challenge) Help?
    Can anyone solve this:

Arrange the nine digits ( 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 ) into 3 groups. Make one group of 2 digits, one group of 3 digits, and one group of four digits, so that when you multiply the first group and the second group, you get the third group of four ( each digits used once)

    Example: 39(186)=7,254

    There are 6 different combinations.

    10 points!
    Can u find them all?

    42*138=5796
    12*483=5796
    18*297=5346
    48*159=7632
    27*198=5346
    28*157=4396

Plus the one you already gave: 39*186=7254

How do I become a Middle School science teacher in NJ with a MA in Commmunications?

Posted by admin on November 21st, 2009 and filed under middle school science | 2 Comments »

Would I have to "start over" with schooling again? Or is there an easier way with the Alternate route? my BA is communications also

Well, you probably don’t but what you can do is check with the NJ Education Board to see what qualifications you need to teach first, then to see the qualifications needed to teach a particular subject. As a minimum you need a B.A. in education, but other B.A.s can cover down if the right courses are there. Once your course requirements can be determined through a transcript, the Board can determine if you need to take additional courses to qualify. Once you complete those courses, you need to have a licensure, or a teaching certificate. The link below will assist you with that and good luck:

Do you agree with public middle schools having uniforms with out asking the students?

Posted by admin on November 21st, 2009 and filed under middle schools | 9 Comments »

I go to a public middle school that has uniforms and i disagree with it because they never asked us if we even wanted it. Please tell me why you think that was
    thank you.

Students should be able to wear whatever they want as long as it follows school dress code. I don’t want my kids wearing a uniform. Who wants to look like everybody else everyday? I know that some kids don’t have it as well as others but thats how life will always be.

Beats what the state has to offer, for sure.

Do Colleges Check Your Middle School Grades?

Posted by admin on November 19th, 2009 and filed under middle school grades | 4 Comments »

I was wondering because my math is not doing so well at this point and
I can’t fix it into an A before the next trimester because that’s next week and there are no tests or quizzes coming up. Will the colleges look at this problem I have right now?

I don’t believe so. It’s your high school grades/transcript that they will be interested in.

With that being said, though, make sure you get up to speed in math NOW so that the high school math grades don’t suffer. What you learn now is the building block for all future math classes. If you need help now, get it now before you fall too far behind.

Trust me on this. I had to take 5 remedial math classes in college before I could take the ONE required class for my degree.

Teaching at an American School in the middle east.. does anyone know if the teacher salary is really worth it?

Posted by admin on November 19th, 2009 and filed under east middle school | 2 Comments »

They pay for a round-trip ticket, and some benefits, but the salary seems really low just like the teacher salary in the US. and the app provided are mostly for singles! Is it really worth it to teach at an American or International school in the middle east?? anyone? teachers? answers??

it depends which country you are about to teach in. The living standarts are different and with less money or the same like in the US you can live comfortably in some middle eastern countries. I am teaching in Egypt and I lead a relaxed life even with a lower salary than in Germany. Plus you will get to know a different culture which is worth more than a few bucks. BTW. Saudi Arabia does not allow single women to come in teaching, in case you are female. .. and in case you just start out to be a teacher – that will be a great oppurtunity to strengthen your teachings skills. different world here!
