do you still have to take pre medical course? like bio chem physics. What if some courses are not offered?
The entrance requirements to US medical schools are inviolate–you must meet them or you cannot be accepted. In addition, most US medical schools require a foreign educated student to attend at least one year at a US undergrad university before applying to a medical school, even if you have studied all of the prerequisite courses. If you present a medical school with a foreign transcript you will asked to have it assessed by a foreign transcript assessment company. There are several in the US.
How can someone who has a degree in elementary teaching make the crossover to teach middle school? I am about to graduate school to be a Elementary Teacher K-6 but I am interested in possibly teaching middle school. I am not super strong in one subject, but am interested in teaching Social Studies/History or Science.
How can I go about this process?
You will need to get in contact with your state’s Department of Education. Each state has their own set of rules concerning this. I can tell you that in the state of Florida you can teach 6th grade only in a Middle School with your degree. If you wanted to teach more than one grade then you would have to take a certification test in the subject you are interested in teaching.
I go to middle school, and where I go, they don’t have foreign languages until high school. What are your views on this? Thx.
I’m in high school now, but our school had foreign language classes, but INTRODUCTORY.
Meaning they don’t count for high school and don’t do anything, just take up a class. The only actual benefit is maybe getting a little boost on the first year of high school foreign language classes, or finding out which language you like the best.
We had Japanese, German, French, Spanish.
I think they should have it for 8th Graders as a chance to take the first year of high school foreign language classes earlier.
Before, my school always had planners for each student and I would have to sign it before they went to the bathroom. Next year, they are not doing the planners, but giving us hall passes for each of our rooms. I generally do not let students leave my room during class, but I understand that there are emergencies. How can I regulate students using up their "emergency" bathroom visits? I was always able to look in their planners before. Does anyone give out 1 or 2 bathroom passes per quarter or anything like that? If so, does it work well?
I can tell the "mom of three" has never taught in a public school. It is against most school policies for a teacher to leave a classroom to go to the bathroom. We do go during the breaks, and we do usually use the staff bathroom which for some reasons is always on the other side of the building.
There will always be students who abuse the system. After awhile you will know who they are. In my school the principal passed out a list of students who were not to be issued bathroom passes (caught with boyfriends, trips outside to smoke etc.) Just keep notes on who is going the most, and if necessary contact the parents and ask them if their child has a medical reason for missing class & the frequent bathroom visits.
The altitude of a triangle is straight line drawn from the apex (the high point) perpendicular to the base. Since there are an infininte number of triangles there is no way to further define it unless you have a specific type of triangle (right, issoceles, etc..) in mind.

I am moving to a new area in a few months and the local school is a middle school. What is this? At the moment my son is at Primary school and in year 6 (the final year). Year 7 is then started at high school.
The local education department said he would be going to the middle school and at the time I didn’t register what they said. Afterwards I wondered what it was.
Can anyone explain please?
It depends what country you live in. Middle schools in the United States are three year schools that begin after elementary school. Basically, here’s the breakdown of education:
Preschool — 2 Years (Beginning at age 2 or 3)
Elementary — Grades Kindergarten to 5
Middle — Grades 6 to 8
High School — Grades 9 to 12
(Optional Higher Education) College — Another 4 years
So if you look at it, Middle Schooler children should be between the ages of 12 to 14. If your son is going into year seven (which I assume is the equivalent of grade six, he should be going to Middle School for three years and then go to High School.
Middle School really prepares students for High School and the rest of their education. It’s kind of a mix between Elementary education and High School education.
Good luck!
Any that also have any for language skills.
I hate my school and want to find some online schools. I mean middle school not college or high school. Some that would be a good suggestion for my grandma to enroll me in.
You can see if k12 is available in your area. It’s actually a public charter so you will still be working under the public school guidelines. But, it is free. They will also provide you with a loaner computer and all other materials that you will need.
If you are not interested in being under government control there are other on-line programs but they are tuition based. If you plan on returning to public school some day make sure you choose a program that will prepare you for that. You can check out Morning Star, Calvert, Time 4 Learning or Laurel Springs to give you an idea of the options available to you.
Hi, I was wondering if there was a nice over 600 student high school in NY that would be pretty good for my brother. His zoned school is John Bowne High School, and I’ve heard some pretty bad things about it. So, I was wondering, what school could he apply to with grades in the low 70s?
Thank you!
You brother should have a high school book with all the high schools in the 5 boroughs of NY toward the end of 7th grade. According to my high school book you are from Queens. John Bowne High School has 3326 students. The average scores on the english regent is 65.50% and the math regent is 69.50%, which is not very good. Here are some schools that requires a 70 average to get in.
August Martin High School
Beach Channel High School
Far Rockaway High School
Flushing High School
Franklin K. Lane High School
Grover Cleveland High School
John Adams High School
Long Island City High School
Newtown High School
Queens Vocational And Technical High School
Richmond Hill High School
Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Secondary School For Arts and Technology
William Cullen Bryant High School
