  • Do all public school middle students have access to a foreign language in the US?

Posted by admin on January 21st, 2010 and filed under middle school students | 6 Comments »

Just wondering if every public middle school in the US makes available foreign language classes?

no… I work for the NYC schools and there are no foreign language classes in my school as a requirement, as an elective or even as an extra curricular activity.

I will say that most schools that have the money offer it.

Is it difficult to get licensed as a middle school teacher in Canada?

Posted by admin on January 21st, 2010 and filed under middle school teachers | 1 Comment »

I am licensed to teach middle school in Massachusetts but plan to move to Vancouver (or Toronto) at some point soon. What are the steps necessary to teach in Canada and are there many teaching positions available for math teachers at the secondary level (middle or high school)? Thanks.
Thanks so much for the response. Does anyone know if there are a number of teaching positions available in Vancouver BC specifically and what _their_ requirements are?

Hi, congratulations on moving to Canada.

Teaching in Ontario requires the approval of the Teachers College. All teachers are either trained here, and subsequently qualified, or otherwise if they are trained as a teacher somewhere that is not recognized, then that teacher will be required to take a test to become certified. Take a look at the Ontario Teachers College for specifics. This process however only applies to the public school system.

Private schools are another matter, and as far as I know they do not have any specific requirements for teaching credentials. There are many private schools in the Toronto area that you could likely get a job with, as you are working towards your certification for the public system, if you so choose.

As for teaching positions, there are many. There are somewhere around 100,000 teachers in Ontario, I believe. As with the States, many are now nearing retirement age, opening positions for teachers in all disciplines.

    Cheers, and good luck.

What is the difference between AP and normal math in middle school?

I am going into 7th grade into a public school for the first time. Wha is the difference betwwen Advanced Placment and normal math? Is there only future high school dropouts in normal math?

normal math is just that the regular math for that grade level where AP math is a higher grade level of math for that particular student so if your in 7th grade and you going into AP math you will be taking 8th grade math instead of 7th

Can any real estate agents in Broward County tell me what are the safer public middle schools?

Posted by admin on January 21st, 2010 and filed under middle schools | 1 Comment »

I’m looking for schools that dont have serious behavior problems or issues with violence on campus. I prefer an upper middle class school with kids that dont have a high percentage of reduced lunch

They could, but it puts them in a liability. As an agent, I always provide where they can find that information & they can call & make their own determination.

Many school have websites. States also often have websites where you can go & visit what ranking each school has along with other info.

Local police could also tell you what school would be lower in violence issues.

Where can you read Middle School Survival Series online for free?

Posted by admin on January 18th, 2010 and filed under online middle school | 1 Comment »

Can I please have the website?

You can read an excerpt but the author is not giving the whole book away for free.

After all, authors write books to make a living. If you got everything for free, she would make no money.

How can i get good grades in middle school and succeed?

Posted by admin on January 18th, 2010 and filed under middle school grades | 2 Comments »

I really, really want to get more awards and pass math and do better than ever than i’ve done in elementary. I am determined and ready to pass test, homework and pass EVERYTHING. But, i have a hard time studying. Does anybody know some REALLY good ways to succeed?

Yes, i am a junior high student, and here are some ways that i use to study:
    >Rewrite notes (just like if some one told you to write your name 50 times you would have it memorized:)
    >If you are trying to memorize something, make connections with a thing or person to help remember…. like if cherries remind you of china…you would remember…
    >STUDY in advance…If a teacher tells you that you have a test on friday, and it is monday, and you know what to study, then STUDY! That has happened to me before, and i didn’t study until the night before, and i didn’t get a very good grade….Thank goodness for retakes!
    >also, you could ask about honors… or a page program…or just do all of your work thoroughly.

    I hope that helped :)

wht does it take to be popular if ur in the 8th grade british school in the middle east??

Posted by admin on January 18th, 2010 and filed under east middle school | 11 Comments »

wht sort of a personality do teens usually like ?
yea, it’s a private british school in the middle east..

I’m a teen and the popular people are usually the ones who are stupid, act like the class clown, and just act up, so I advise you to be yourself and be sociable so people will get to know you for who you are rather than some mask you’re hiding behind and you’ll get to know others better. Smile, be kind, but not too kind, you don’t want to get taken advantage of (THAT STINKS). Just start a conversation with somebody and you might make a new friend. You can help people out, but if someone says "I just need an answer to #8, and they ask you for your homework paper, they’re going to copy all the answers. There are groups of kinds of teens. Just be yourself. People will or won’t like you for who you are, but hiding behind a mask is even worse because when you reveal your true personality, your popular friends will probably drift away. In Junior High and High School, most girls go out with the cute guys, but as you get into college and maybe a little older, you’re more distinguished by your personality. There are exceptions.

What advice would you give to ESE students entering middle school or entering high school?

I have to write a booklet on how to survive being in middle and high school. What advice would you give to the students entering middle school.
And the ones entering high school?
I have already written part of it. I just want to know your advice on what should ESE kids know
before entering middle and high school.

Just be yourself. Nobody likes posers, and try to make friends with everyone. If your fat be funny or be tough. Also have fun!

Can Middle School Students go on Strike?

Posted by admin on January 18th, 2010 and filed under middle school students | 3 Comments »

Are middle school students allowed to go on strike and why?

Well I guess all you would have to do is not go to school… but why would you not want to? You’re getting free (unless you’re an idiot going to a private school) education for god’s sake.
