  • Do all the adults in middle school want the students to be scared for high school?

Posted by admin on February 19th, 2010 and filed under middle school students | 5 Comments »

I mean why do all the adults think that everyone single middle school student in my school would actually fail grade 8 also they also nag us like 24/7 seriously theyre calling our homes 24/7 really believe me

I doubt that all adults or even most think the way that you think that they do, The frequent calls to your home are probably made for either discipline problems or because the school wants to see academic improvement.

In order to become a middle school math teacher, do I have to be good at Algebra, or calculus?
    What are the requirements?
Is it hard to become one?

    beginning algebra, yes. calculus, no.

it’s no harder than becoming any other kind of teacher. obviously you wouldn’t consider doing it unless you were competent in math.

Sure, most schools will accept you if they have spots available. Contact the school you are interested in and talk to them about your situation.

There are many free online schools. Try K12, Connections Academy and Kaplan. Here are the basics to get you started with homeschooling. http://www.canihomeschool.blogspot.com

    Middle School GRades?

Posted by admin on February 17th, 2010 and filed under middle school grades | 2 Comments »

Hi, I am in the eight grade, was wondering if middle school grades matter for highschool. I am an straight A student, an I am very smart. But, this year, I’m in the second trimester and I feel lazy. Does it matter to universities if I get some B’s on my report card. Does an Ivy Leauge school require 4.0 GPA is middle. I know I can do well in highschool If i try. But how about this year

It depends on your Middle School/High School. A lot of schools look at your grades to determine placement for High School. As for college, I don’t think Middle School grades matter. High School grades matter for sure though.

On the east coast, for grades 7 and 8, do they call it middle school or junior high, or both?

Passing out prescription birthcontrol to middle school students, what do you think?

Posted by admin on February 17th, 2010 and filed under middle school | 22 Comments »

I heard on the radio this morning that this middle school in Oregon plans on distributing prescribed birth control to their students. School officials stated that the reason they’re planning to do this is because parents should not ignore the fact children in this age bracket are having sex. However, many parents argue that middle school students are too young to have birth control pills. The dj stated that he agrees with the parents. He also stated that he thinks it is ok to pass out birthcontrol pills to high school students. What do you think?

Honestly, excluding all the health risks, I agree. Somtime in the next year the male contraceptive is going to be realesed on the market, in the clinical trial it is 100% effective, among the several forms the the contraceptive comes in, one is a device that can be implanted in the arm (also removed at anytime reversing the contraceptive) and lasts for around nine years. I think that at fourteen boys should have this device implanted and removed at 24 when it wears out. I think that if we can find a way to give people in this country time to grow up and become educated we would have alot less problems in our society.

What are some good ways to teach velocity to middle school students?

Posted by admin on February 17th, 2010 and filed under middle school students | 9 Comments »

I work in a Title 1 school and I need lessons that are on a fairly basic level…but worth the student’s time. Web sites would be helpful. This is the first of the 8th grade science standards in California.

Have them throw balls. Throw them hard and they are moving at a greater velocity. Have them throw them softly and they move at a lower velocity.
