Personally if have been the the middle east and its beautiful, dont listen to CNN and the local news, all lies. Yah since theres a war there thats a verry bad thing but other than that really its very nice.

Is there any Habitat for Humanity type volunteer organization in the middle east? I’m looking to organize and write a grant proposal for a small team to go into the middle east and help construct homes/schools/safe water supplies. I was just wondering if anyone knew of anything similar in the area. Also any suggestions, concerns, and advice will be more than appreciated. Thank you in advance

This could happen , if the Middle East has a WWIII, have to admit its really unstable in Iran and Pakistan and they don’t like us very much. We have 4 Oil Co. bids on Iraq Oil and that will help, but if Obama wins and takes out our troops Al Qaeda and Taliban take over Iraq we have No Oil . We depend on them. If one day we got no more oil from the Middle East cause we have more oil in the US than the entire Middle East does but Congress don’t want to drill it up – how the heck would the School Buses run? How do we get to work?Use Vegy oil? I don’t think theres enough vegy oil, then we wont have vegys. Don’t we need to drill for oil? Do majority democrats in Congress want us to have a depression? They want us broke and using public transit so we go where they take us when they want us to. They have found willing partners with the envior"mental"ists that want the same. I live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, there are a few oil drilling riggs here. Thats where the fish are. Go figure. A real enviormentalist would want us to drill our own oil so we can make it as enviormentaly safe as possible. i thought it was all english but i was going through a website for a university all in arabic and my readign and writing is too weak for me to be able to study in arabic

It depends on where you come from. If you are from UK., US you can expect starting salary of $3000 per month. If you are from India or Asia and if you are lucky you can expect $500. Again if have a Rs.2000 ($50) job in India, don’t think of Middle East.

You can have a good medical degree from Cairo University. (Sorry, I don’t know about universities in Jordan, Lebanon, UAE).

But if you want in Lebanon, you can check online or ask people about AUB – American Univ. Beirut if if it has good medical major. Also ask about AUD (Amer. Univ. Dubai) and AUS (Amer. Univ Sharjah).

My cousin is doing a map of "middle east" for school. I never understood why it was called the middle east. i mean its southwest asia not "middle east"

the previous 2 answers are correct , but at the same time the also the way the word Orient was coined into English terminology from French . Originally Orient in the old days meant direction or center path (not East), but consider that a European travels east to get to what was the middle of the map then (900~1000 years ago) so when they coined it in English they couldn’t say Middle Center (sounds awkward) , and since the word Orient was synonymous with east , Orient was then taken to mean east in English despite it not being the original old meaning.
