For College? When i was in middle school i Had straight A’s Except in the 6th grades i got some F’s and D’s will this affect my chance of getting into a good Uni?
No, they don’t care about middle school grades. If you’re transferring to university right after high school than they will look at your grades your 9th,10, and 11th grade. They will only looked to 12th to see you passed, but heavy weight is put on your gpa from 9th,10th, and 11th. If you go to a community college out of high school they just want to see you got your diploma. When you transfer from a community college they just ask for your grades from the college.
I’m a Senior this upcoming fall in high school, and i need to calculate my GPA… I took some High school courses ( french 1 and 2, IPC, Algebra 1) when i was in middle school, so how do they count those grades for the GPA, Does it have advanced grade points, regular, or it just doesn’t count?
Ask your senior guidance counselor these questions. Answers will depend on your state, county, etc.
i am stuck, im in 8th grade and i have some thinking to do: have fun now in middle school, meet someone special or work hard now have fun later and/or be a total loser with no friends in middle or high school ?! please help im confused!
I got really good grades in middle school and still had a blast and now Im a junior in high school and I have a 3.6 gpa which is pretty good but not as good as in middle school. But Im having so much fun in high school and I love it! Best years of my life so far!!! I think I could do a little better academically but then I would be working too hard and not have as much time for my friends. But I don’t have a lot to worry about cause I have a full 4 year scholarship for golf to Georgia State.
I was wondering because my math is not doing so well at this point and
I can’t fix it into an A before the next trimester because that’s next week and there are no tests or quizzes coming up. Will the colleges look at this problem I have right now?
I don’t believe so. It’s your high school grades/transcript that they will be interested in.
With that being said, though, make sure you get up to speed in math NOW so that the high school math grades don’t suffer. What you learn now is the building block for all future math classes. If you need help now, get it now before you fall too far behind.
Trust me on this. I had to take 5 remedial math classes in college before I could take the ONE required class for my degree.
I am only in the 6th grade.
I guess i do pretty well (90’s+).
But I HAVE to make it to Harvard University for college.
You are in the sixth grade, and you are already looking ahead to college? Good for you! I like a person who sets goals for himself.
The answer to your questions is "no". However, you seem to have developed excellent study skills, which will serve you in good stead all of your life.
Learn as much as possible about as much as possible. Do not limit yourself to material that is presented in class. Instead, try to learn and experience life outside of school because you will be better able to build your formal education on that.
Good luck to you!
my mom always makes a big deal if i get a C on my report card, im in 8th grade (one year till high school) and i dont think they matter for college, ive asked a few people in high school and they say middle school was just getting you prepared for high school, so the main quesiton is do middle school grades really matter for college?
No, they do not matter at all. You have to submit high school transcripts with most college applications. You NEVER have to submit middle school transcripts. You could make it through middle school on all D’s and no college admissions office would ever know.
What grades do you consider "elementary school" and what grades do you consider "middle school"?

Im in 8th and so far it was the best!! Cuz of prom, graduation, and the sudden eager to go to HS!
Well middle school is just around the corner…4 days!!! Last year my grades were not where i wanted them to be. I mean it wasn’t that i was dumb i just didn’t really care and i didn’t turn things in on time, it was just TERRIBLE. This year i want to start out fresh and get things in on time. And not get stressed with homework. Can anyone give me some tips on how to stay focus, get good grades, and not get caught up in all the drama and stress of middle school. Thanks!!
I’m glad that you’re interested in getting good grades; honestly, that is the first step. You just need to set your mind to what you want and not lowering your standards for anyone or anything. If you have a huge assignment that is soon to be due and a friend asks you to hang out, but you may not have enough time to finish the project, you should ask your friend if you can hang out a different day and finish your project on-time. Procrastination is such a huge problem! I am the queen of procrastination and I’m in high school, which isn’t the best time to be procrastinating.
In order to get good grades you just need to set you mind to doing that and having certain standards, such as not wanting to hang out with friends before your work is finished. Set goals for yourself and keep those goals and you should do fine. Middle school is a time for development, maturing, and growth, and you’ll learn what works for you as far as study habits.
im not that smart. i get afew zeros every now and then, and dont do good on tests. and im only in 8grade so im waiting for high school to start studying and doing better. (i am smart when i want to be, but rite now middle school dosent seem to matter)
so, do colleges really look @ middle school grades? i mean does that really matter?
Not to my knowledge they don’t. But it may also depend on the kind of college you or what college your going to. You should be fine for right now. But once you get into High school you never want to slack off because the main thing colleges look at is your GPA and extra curricular activities. I know your freshmen and sophmore year may seem like no big deal but messing up those years can determine your GPA and most universities and colleges you have to have a certain GPA to even apply. Even some jobs ask for it. Good Luck. And always try to do your best!
