What certification test does someone take to become a middle school math teacher in Missouri?
I know there is a C-BASE test that you have to take to be a high school math teacher but I didn’t’ know if you had to take the same test or a different one like elementary school does.
Do you know?

After this summer i will be entering high school. Is it that much different from middle school? Any tips?
From personal experience middle school felt like highschool, which should be the othe way around right? But for me it wasn’t we drank ,party, smoke because we didn’t at moment have to worry about important grades or college but when we got to highschool eveything change and so did the people sometimes for the worst and sometimes for the best. Basically you goota be happy with youself to get through highschool. Even though were suppose to be maturing, people still act like their in elementary school. Try to make new friends cause you will lose some of you ald ones. But highschool is fun and are the best years you will ever have.
How can someone who has a degree in elementary teaching make the crossover to teach middle school? I am about to graduate school to be a Elementary Teacher K-6 but I am interested in possibly teaching middle school. I am not super strong in one subject, but am interested in teaching Social Studies/History or Science.
How can I go about this process?
You will need to get in contact with your state’s Department of Education. Each state has their own set of rules concerning this. I can tell you that in the state of Florida you can teach 6th grade only in a Middle School with your degree. If you wanted to teach more than one grade then you would have to take a certification test in the subject you are interested in teaching.
I’m in school to be an elementary school teacher, however I would also like to be a middle maybe high school math teacher. My degree will be liberal studies/education, but what steps could I take to teach middle/high school math?
Thanks much!
I got a degree in education, with emphasis in elementary education. My major was fine arts and my minor was math/social studies.
My teaching certificate stated that I was qualified to teach K-8 9 (all subjects), and 9th grade Fine Arts.
Check with your state, but I think you can get a minor in math and that will transfer to your credentials.
What community service can a middle school aged kid do (say 11-13) that does NOT involve long hours on the feet, extra walking, running, or being outside for extended hours? She needs community service hours, but would like to avoid these things if possible.
there are 2 activities that you can engage in.
first one is library. not hard, does not require skill… boring but
doable
second one is old people’s house, AKA nursing home. go there help elders
I just graduated from middle school and I’m curious for what I should expect and look forward to in high school. Oh its a public high school. Thank you so very much!!!
Well, you definitely have a lot to look forward too!
There are some differences, but not many.
Mainly, teachers will expect you to take responsibility for your actions. If you are late on homework, expect a lower grade. Now this doesn’t mean you should not talk to your teacher if there is a reasonable excuse for why you were late or did not turn in an assignment. Just make sure that you are upfront and honest as soon as possible, otherwise they will feel you are just making excuses.
In high school, you want your teacher to know you. Once you apply for college you will need teacher recommendations. Don’t "suck up" to a teacher, but let them know you. Ask questions, go in for help, participate in class. If they do not see you doing these things, it will be hard for them to give a true view of who you are to colleges (they may even decide not to write a recommendation if they feel they do not know you enough).
I do not know what type of middle school you went to or how difficult it was. Those were my two main changes though. In middle school I didn’t really try to let my teachers know me, but in high school its important. Also being held responsible for your actions and school work was a huge change. In middle school, teachers tend to "baby" students a bit. My high school had a zero tolerance for late work… which meant, if you didn’t turn it in when it was due, you just got a zero. Also projects were expected to be turned it even if you were at home sick (the school expected me to find someone to turn it in for me like a friend or parent). Now, there are circumstances that teachers will understand if these things happen, but you need to make sure to talk to them.
Friends – well lets just say you get to meet a lot of new people. My school had 2500 kids and I didn’t know everyone there. I just met a lot of new people though and whoever I got along with a hung out with. My school did have groups, but groups are not necessarily a bad thing. You just have to be confident in who you are. Hang out with who you like… don’t try to be cool. Trying to be cool will generally just make you not cool.
Hope this helps…
I wanted a cute little fundraiser idea for the middle school program. I want to know all of the steps and how many months needed to prepare. I also want to know the cost and how many volunteers needed. Any other information too! Please & Thank you! ^.^
You should probably ask the principle or head of the middle school for permission.
You would probably need a few months or maybe a few weeks. No more than 3 months if it’s just for fundraising.
Take as many volunteers as you can get. This would include setting up the stage and if you have to rent a place out or if your school has an auditorium, ask headmaster or principle if you could use.
Price should be summed up by the signs and if you will have a recession.
Ill favorite this and look back in a few if this helps or if you can go into a little more detail.
Good luck!
I don’t mean dancing to a slow song but at a middle school dance where they are playing pop and stuff like that how do I dance. Everyone seems to be so good at it and when I try to dance it feels like im just jumping around (which I guess is part of it) but I still feel stupid trying to dance when everyone else seems like professionals. Any tips?
Thanks!
If you are more interested in having fun, then by all means just jump around!! Some people aren’t good dancers, and if you are not, then you can have a great time by just doing what you like.
What I am getting is that you are more interested in looking acceptable… so in that case, KEEP IT SIMPLE. Keep your feet planted at first. Almost all pop music is in four count pieces. Find the beat, then do something in one direction for two counts, then do the exact same thing in the other direction for two counts, and you’re done. (Well, repeat a couple of times… but nothing else to remember.)
Make your movements direct and purposeful (study the way cheerleaders hit their cheer poses)–the main thing that makes non-dancers look clumsy is that their movements are uncertain and without focus or direction. Only move your feet once every two or four counts–keep them planted for the most part.
A really good tip is to be still. Do not be afraid to remain completely still for two counts or four counts. Hold the last position you hit until you feel the beat again, then start dancing again. It looks really dramatic and professional.
Most importantly–don’t try to bust out a dance move you saw on a video. Dancing only looks good when you have internalized the movement and it feels right to you on your body. Don’t practice memorizing anything… just do things that feel comfortable and natural with the music that is playing.
I hope that helps.
I am a sickly young sixth grader who goes to a minnesota middle school. I have missed 8 days which are all excused absences. 3 of those days were for othro appointments, so technically i missed 5 and 3 periods. the reason for this question is for the amount of school i can miss without them coming to my house the next time i am sick. Would it be ten? 15? 20 days of school?

What are some ways that I can prepare for middle school tryouts. I have a few months, but I really want to make it, so what can I do? Also, how much running do you have to do at tryouts?
this is my first year playing for my middle school and i would say you do a lot of conditioning so you aren’t out of breath on the court. my coach has us do drills and games and if we mess up or lose then we do running as consequences. It sounds meana and hard but its actually shes a good coach. That’s only practices though. at tryouts you do just as a warmup 2laps round the gym. and it depends on drills u do..not that much running. the coaches look for good passes and serves over the net.(the net and serving line are about 30ft apart). practice hitting the ball against a wall or sumthing that u would do that involves passing.
