  • Where can you read Middle School Survival Series online for free?

Posted by admin on January 18th, 2010 and filed under online middle school | 1 Comment »

Can I please have the website?

You can read an excerpt but the author is not giving the whole book away for free.

After all, authors write books to make a living. If you got everything for free, she would make no money.

online argument that middle school kids need more time?

Posted by admin on January 18th, 2010 and filed under online middle school | 1 Comment »

i need an argument supporting the fact that middle school students need more time switching between classes? i need to do research for my LA persuasive essay.

We do need more time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The dean of the middle school/my english teacher always asks why we are late. It is not our fault but the halls get clogged and people walk to slow or stop and talk… when other people have to get somewhere!!!!!!! We also need to get stuff from our lockers and that just add more time…. we need at least four minutes or three…. teachers should give us more time and try and navigate crowded hallways and other stuff. We also need to talk to teachers, etc. Good luck and hope you get an A+++.

Maybe you know the game. The kids had profiles. You could manipulate who they had crushes on and everything. It was something like ‘Mania School’ or something. I am not talking about designing a school, I mean RUNNING one. Please help me!

check if the site bellow helps

Can I start homeschooling/online schooling in the middle of the school year(now)?

Well, I’ve gotten pretty sick and bored of school and attempted suicide because of all the stress and pressure I get from my teachers. It all started when I went to an elite private school but after 3 1/2 years of overwhelming stress, I decided to transfer out of that school and into a public school. The public school I go to now isn’t exactly a good school. There are lots of delinquents and the teachers don’t care at all and are really bad at teaching. I think the best decision for me would be to take care of my own schooling (online schooling). And since I want to become a computer engineer or anything related to technology, the school I go to now doesn’t teach me anything that I need to know about the future career I want to have. It’s basically "a waste of time" for me.

Also, I’m 14 and in 8th grade middle school.

i looked into that this year too.
and it was all looking good, i found a program for not too much money and it seemed to be simple enough…
but then when my mother contacted the school system they said they have to give you their list of programs, you choose one of theirs and retturn it, then you have to wait for them to get to your ‘case’ and they have to decide if they approve of your request or not.

they told me when i asked around the end of the first half of the year, that i wouldnt be entering the program for at least TWO YEARS!!
    its crazy!!!

it could be different for your system however. have your parents (or do it yourself) contact the school and ask about it.
maybe they are smarter than mine!

what is the best way to do homeschooling for middle school and high school online?

Posted by admin on December 21st, 2009 and filed under online middle school | 3 Comments »

This may not help much, but if you haven’t, you might try going to http://home-school.com/ as a resource.

Also, regarding the above comment from make_me_a_grill: That’s just the problem. Too many people think that H.S. is just or mostly about socializing so many do mediocre to poor only to regret it later in life when they realize they don’t hang out with their friends from H.S. because they’ve moved on. Good grades stick with you much longer than H.S. socializing ever will. That’s why many many choose to homeschool. They want thier children to have a focused education that will last.

Also, you have an inaccurate picture of homeschooling if you think that homeschoolers don’t socialize. This isn’t necessarily the case at all. In fact, my nieces and nephew who are being homeschool socialize with their homeschool friends much more than I ever did in a public school.

Are there any online middle schools suggested for a pissed 11 year old?

Posted by admin on December 18th, 2009 and filed under online middle school | 4 Comments »

Any that also have any for language skills.
I hate my school and want to find some online schools. I mean middle school not college or high school. Some that would be a good suggestion for my grandma to enroll me in.

You can see if k12 is available in your area. It’s actually a public charter so you will still be working under the public school guidelines. But, it is free. They will also provide you with a loaner computer and all other materials that you will need.

If you are not interested in being under government control there are other on-line programs but they are tuition based. If you plan on returning to public school some day make sure you choose a program that will prepare you for that. You can check out Morning Star, Calvert, Time 4 Learning or Laurel Springs to give you an idea of the options available to you.

is there a way i can get credits in online school for middle school?

Posted by admin on December 15th, 2009 and filed under online middle school | 3 Comments »

i want to give online school a chance, because ive heard a lot of good things about it. im not sure im ready to give up the actual experience of school though. you know, going to friends houses after school, eating lunch together, dating. etc .

me and my mom thought i could do online school during the summer, and get credits for my classes. i know you can do that in high school, but what about middle school?

oh, if it makes a difference, i live in arizona.

I live in Utah and there is a program for homeschooled students here called EHS and it can be used to get ahead for any grade and can be used from people in other states. You can complete all of the quarters credits that you want and then take a final test on them with a certified proctor. Unless you live in the very northern part of Arizona and would not mind meeting a proctor in utah to take a test your mother could become a certified proctor online and you could take the final tests at home. It has all classes the classes almost that a normal highschool would have and a class that I would suggest you took would be a secondary language class because they are easy to take online and you need probably two years of it to get into most colleges. EHS will send proof of your quarter credits to your junior high or high school.

Even though I’m in middle school can i take an online community college class?

Posted by admin on December 13th, 2009 and filed under online middle school | 3 Comments »

I would like to learn a foreign language in middle school and our classes for spanish are filled. I would like to have learned multiple languages by the time I am out of high school. Can i take an online foreign language course at a community college? If so could i use this on my college application in the future? Where do i go find out if this is possible and the cost? Thanks for your help!!!

You will have to check the requirements of the community college.
They might vary, but I think most require you to be either 16 or 18.

If you do learn the language, then you can take an AP test to get possible college credit.
