It all depends on what the unit you are assigned to is doing. If you get assigned to a unit that is already there, then pack your bags. Otherwise, they could be preparing to deploy, just returning from a deployment, or have another task at hand. Your chances of going to the Middle East are greater, but they still deploy Marines to different parts of the world. MEU groups all across to world, forward operating bases, and many more. hahah… someone said that there are ‘non-deployable" jobs… what a bunch of bs… that is not true… if they need you, they will send you.
now, you have to tell what is your MOS … so it all depends on it… if your MOS requires 4 weeks of training like infantry then you will probably be sent as soon as your unit rotation begins… I would say, by March you would be there if that is the case. If your training takes longer then maybe mid-2010.. etc… usually 1-2-3 months after you are done. References :

there isnt a set time it depends on the unit your assigned to and where it falls in the deployment rotation

..my husbands job is non deployable..
Okay, let me clarify..where we are stationed..HIS UNIT is non deployable..if he was at Pendleton then he would..sorry for the confusion…
