If your grades weren’t too good, you probably weren’t taking high school classes, though (I’m just guessing).

Some schools count several high school level courses that are advanced for 8th graders into your transcript. Also, sometimes foreign language tests taken at the end of 8th grade carry over. But most of the time they don't. Check with your guidance counselor. Also, most colleges would rather see a student improve than not getting better. Just focus from now on and you'll be fine.
