  • Will my grades in middle school effect me in high school?

Posted by admin on December 21st, 2009 and filed under middle school grades | 5 Comments »

I have gotten mostly all As and Bs until this year in 8th grade, where I have gotten a few Ds, Cs, and less Bs and As. I am pretty sure that next year in high school I will be able to get my grades up, but will anything bad happen because of the grades I have been getting recently?

Also, any help about how to survive high school would help! Lol
    Thanks!

Nope- when you get to high school you get to start fresh grade wise.

But you might do the same things that got you bad grades in middle school so be careful! If you want to go to a good college, its a lot easier to maintain a good GPA than try to rescue a bad one.

My biggest tip would be to ask for help as soon as you get confused about anything. Its a lot easier for a tutor to explain one confusing question than to try to catch you up on a whole semester’s worth of material you never fully mastered.

No they won’t. Any grades up until high school don’t matter for college or the high school either unless they decide to put you in remedial classes.

They will indirectly effect you becuase middle school builds a foundation for high school just like elementrary school built a foundation for middle school. Therefore your grades will reflect how much you learned reflecting on how much you will get in high school. Thus if you learn the material but have bad grades in middle school no it will not effect you in high school. Just as long as you learn the materail and the foundation is set.

Your grades in middle school will affect your placement in high school classes. If you want to go to college, you really need to focus on maintaining great high school grades becasue that is what the colleges look at.

As far as surviving high school… as long as you have a friend or two (or 3 or 4), you’ll do fine. More friends = more drama. Just balance "fitting in" with 4.0 GPA and it’ll be over in 4.0 years.

Nope. For college they only look at your high school grades. And for high school they look at your middle school grades.
