They're about the same in pay. You just have to decide which job would have less hassles. I'd go for the social work.

If you would like to spoil your life teacher’ job is enough good for you, otherwise if you are an innovative you should join non profit as a social worker.

Depends on which state you live in…each state is different when it comes to payscales….A degree past an AA would give you much leaverage in both markets.

I would advise you to go to payscale.com. You can compare the salaries in your city. Also, don't ever take a job just because it pays big bucks. If you're not passionate about the work that you do eventually you'll hate going. Trust me!

Compare the jobs, not the money, and choose the one that best fits your personality. My guess is that you should stay out of education unless it's what you want to do more than anything else.

My sister taught middle school and I was a social worker. We had comparable annual income and very similar insurance and retirement benefits. However teachers only work about nine months a year so in real, hourly dollars she made more.
Now with a Masters degree on Social Work I"m sure there are some higher paying jobs to be found.
