are middle school teachers mean than elementary school teachers?

Well, they demand a little more from you, but they aren’t necessarily meaner! You may have to do a little more work than you are used to, but most teachers are very friendly and personable. I’m sure you ran in to a few meanies in elementary school, and you will definitely have to face a few really bad ones during the course of your education. Just remember that you only have these teachers for one year, so try your best to get along with them and do what they ask! You’ll get through it, don’t worry!

As a whole, in my experience absolutely yes, they are much harsher. I found Middle school to be an incredibly painfull and grueling experience (that was around 1996-1998 for me)

It depends on the location you’re in. Schools located in low income neighborhoods have teachers that are complete jack holes.

NO. They are not "meaner", you can’t make generalizations like that.

I myself am a future teacher and I wouldn’t suddenly decide to be "meaner" simply because I was now teaching middle school rather than elementary school level students.
Middle school teachers may have to be a little more strict though simply because middle school can be a tough time for some students, since they are going through puberty and kids tend to be more clique-y and superficial at that age.

Just don’t go into middle school thinking all your teachers are suddenly going to be mean to you, you should get to know each teacher and their individual teaching styles before you judge them.

      Hope that helps! :D

We all had a teacher we didn’t like in school, or maybe one you never wanted to get, but as far as teachers getting more mean, that is just a rumor you must have heard. Yes, the work gets harder so you may not like all your teachers as much because they’re making you do more work, but most likely you haven’t even met the teacher who your going to say was your favorite one of all time.

no but they do expect middle schoolers to be able to keep up with more responsibilities….all teachers are they to help and teach. Just because they expect more for you doesn’t mean they will be mean

I have been a teacher in each setting. Recently, I went back to the elementary setting. Dealing with the same kids all day is a real hassle. At least, when they change classes, you see new faces and start over. Also, when there are multiple classes, you may sort the kids periodically to change the momentum of badness, etc.

Both settings, students have thought I was mean. Later, they come back and say THANK YOU for preparing them for teachers who could not take the time to become involved.

i was in the same problem as you.
see some teachers are nice and some teacher are mean almost always you will get a fair and nice teacher it really rare for you to get a mean teacher. But if you think you have a mean teaher think again. maybe their point is right.
Really get to know a teacher too.
