I’m entertaining the notion of going back into teaching in 2009. I will test the water by doing some subbing in the New Year. I’ve been out of the classroom for ten years. Can you recommend a refresher on classroom management/discipline?
Thanks.

Wong is great for elementary levels but way too ineffective with often defiant middle-schoolers.
Another excellent one is "Tools for Teaching" by Fred Jones

Harry Wong’s First Days of School is wonderful… his techniques may be a bit hokey for middle schoolers, but once you get them used to your style the school year will be much easier.
