  • What is the best clarinet for a middle school student?

Posted by admin on April 15th, 2010 and filed under middle school | 4 Comments »

I am in 7th grade, but in the 8th grade band.My lessons teacher says I have more than high school talent, and I take lessons with high schoolers. I am good, but I have a bad clarinet. I have a vito, which is not the best. What would be the best clarinet for me? Not so much as a middle school student but a person with skills in clarinet.

If you want an intermediate clarinet, I would recommend the Buffet E11.

probably the safest online store to buy instruments from, my band teachers use it too.
they have great beginner clarinets to pro ones.

a really good intermediate clarinet is http://www.wwbw.com/Buffet-Crampon-E11-Intermediate-Bb-Clarinet-462795-i1143737.wwbw
buffet makes great instruments and should last a long time. it will be better than your vito.

if your looking for a lower priced go with this

or just browse the website. if the clarinets are too expensive i would suggest to go used and get it cleaned.

A Buffet B12. It’s brilliant, even though it’s not wooden. I’ve played on one since I was 11. I’m now 17, and I would like to upgrade, but I just can’t afford it. My Buffet is still going strong though and handles the difficult pieces I play with ease.

There are 4 different levels of clarinet models: beginner, intermediate, professional, and artist. The Buffet B12 is considered a student level clarinet – for people just starting to play. Based on what you have told us, the intermediate level is definitely best for you. These are step-up instruments for those who have been playing clarinet for a few years and want to improve. The Buffet E11 is the model that I recommend. I bought it after 4 years of playing on plastics, and it’s been wonderful to me!
