  • Do you agree with public middle schools having uniforms with out asking the students?

Posted by admin on November 21st, 2009 and filed under middle schools | 9 Comments »

I go to a public middle school that has uniforms and i disagree with it because they never asked us if we even wanted it. Please tell me why you think that was
    thank you.

Students should be able to wear whatever they want as long as it follows school dress code. I don’t want my kids wearing a uniform. Who wants to look like everybody else everyday? I know that some kids don’t have it as well as others but thats how life will always be.

It is being done for several reasons. Usually, in elementary or middle schools , unfortunately, the student rarely has any say so.There are ways to peacefully "protest" decisions.

Perhaps you failed to notice that the students do not run the school. The administration – start with the office marked ‘Principal’ – decides things. The students would decide in favor of no homework and no classes. That would be rather a bad decision for an institution of education and learning

Because the people on the school board or the city thought it would be a good idea. they probably didn’t want to see every thing a girl had to show off from the bottom and the top and didn’t want to see every pair of under shorts the guys were wearing. Its probably an attempt to get rid of the trashy look in the classes. You weren’t asked because the kids are not in charge.

no I don’t agree and they probably didn’t ask you guys b/c they know u wouldn’t want uniforms. Some of the reasons schools have uniforms are b/c that way u don’t know who is "rich" or "poor" and they don’t have to worry about immodest clothing and they can know who belongs to the school and who doesn’t b/c they can tell by your uniform. I guess having uniforms may eliminate some problems, but its still stupid to not even be allowed to wear what you want 9months out of the year for 13 years!!!!!

the schools don’t want too see the kids skin exposure. They don’t want too see the kids wearing pants and shirts with tears or holes, exposure of undergarments, and anything that is obscene, gang-related, or unsafe….because of there dress code and zero tolerance rules

perhaps it was in the best interest of the students. Sometimes people who have authority over us make decisions with checking with us first because they are in a position of authority and they have oversight that you just may not have at this point.
