  • The cons of more sports in middle schools?

Posted by admin on December 29th, 2009 and filed under middle schools | 4 Comments »

Im doing a debate project in school.
The topic is, "Should More After School Sports Be Offered In Middle Schools?"
My team is against this topic, so I need facts of how there shouldn’t be more sports offered.

    Thanks!
can anyone link me to some articles please? That would be a great help!

Yeah, I don’t know if I totally agree but I sorta do :)
    Well here’s some ideas

    * It takes away focus when kids should be studying
    * Younger kids tend to hurt themselves by doing dumb things
    * Most "Coaches" are teachers and kids tend to get favored
    * Middle isn’t supposed to be about sports more so clubs and learning

    ..sorry i hope i helped

it takes away from school work
it takes away from family time
      it is more expensive
children in middle school need to focus on their homework and studying

They are expensive. With the downturn in the economy, schools are cutting budgets. Adding sports at the expense of academics would be an irresponsible use of tax dollars.
